Rita is a hairdresser who works in a beauty parlour for dogs. In her spare time she’s forced to nurse her prejudiced and racist foster mother, Edith. No one else will anymore; Edith has fired nine of the assistants sent by the welfare office. So when Samir arrives as number ten, he’s Rita’s last chance for some time to herself. And she really longs to do something more, something else with her life. In her attempt to find herself, Rita spends a weekend at a health resort and there she meets Knut. An undercover journalist who wants to write a revealing story about white trash people who believe in New Age.
