Synopsis
Wisting is based on the best-selling, award-winning books by former homicide detective Jørn Lier Horst, about Detective Chief Inspector William Wisting (47) and his crime journalist daughter Line (24). Season one weaves together the plots from two books, The Caveman and The Hunting Dogs.
The family Christmas is ruined as Wisting wrestles with the most challenging case of his career. A shocking discovery has terrified the locals of the small Norwegian town Larvik: a wanted American serial killer lives among them! Meanwhile, Line´s journalistic investigation into the death of her anonymous next-door neighbour, Viggo, puts her straight in path of the serial killer.
To make matters worse, Wisting is suspended on suspicion of planting evidence in a previous, infamous murder case, leading to a wrongful conviction. The media smells blood. Used to being the one doing the hunting, Wisting finds himself in the uncomfortable position of being the hunted.
